Beautiful Ningaloo

Subsea 7’s proposed pipeline fabrication facility just 2-kilometres from the Ningaloo World Heritage area prompted PROTECT NINGALOO to launch an advocacy campaign calling on the State Government to protect the region from industrialisation. ‘Beautiful Ningaloo’ was a cliché tourism campaign using all the tropes you’d see in a regular tourism campaign but with one key addition – industrialisation. The campaign forced proponent Subsea-7 to scrap their plans after an EPA assessment was ordered by the Environment Minister.
